Have you or a loved one experienced a major loss recently or within the past couple years?
Need solutions for recovery?
Do the losses in your life seem to keep piling up?

“Grief is a normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind.”
“Grief is the conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change in a familiar pattern of behavior.”

We have been acculturated to be “Fine” and “Be Strong.” This is how many of us have learned to deal with betrayal, moving and losing trust in significant relationships. I can attest that this is not effective. We have been taught many other myths directly and indirectly in how to deal with losses.

Grief is not limited to our reactions to death or divorce. There are over 40 loss experiences that can produce feelings of grief, including:

  • Devastation from natural disasters such as flooding from storms
  • Major health challenges
  • A loved one dying
  • Relationship breakup
  • Other estranged relationships
  • Death of a pet
  • Moving
  • Starting school
  • Marriage (major life change & loss of freedom)
  • Graduation
  • End of addictions
  • Retirement
  • Financial Changes – positive or negative
  • Holidays
  • Legal problems
  • Empty nest

Running away from grief or just applying band-aid remedies like staying busy or just taking medications, does not lead to recovery. Without recovery, all life areas and relationships can suffer.

I offer The Grief Recovery Method One on One Program, which allows me to guide you to complete some of the pain from the grief. This is a formatted, individualized program to meet your needs of healing and recovery. It involves 7 sessions of thorough education and guidance through effective action – solutions with the The Grief Recovery Handbook.

In order to have recovery, you must be willing to engage your grief and trust that on this journey you find some relief. If your grief is related to someone dying, this is not about forgetting a loved one or not caring any longer that he or she is gone. Recovery is feeling better.
